I just bought a SSD for window 7 and battlefield 3. I want to use my old HDD for storage movie, file. When I partition, I set SSD is primary drive and make it active. I divide my HDD to 2 drives. One for ghost file and 1 for storage, but I didn' change their partition. They are still primary drive. Both storage and back up. Do I need to set them to logical or extended. Will I lost some files that I already put in them?.

If you delete or format a partition, all the data on that partition is deleted.

As for creating new partitions, you have two choices: Primary or Extended. You can have up to four Primary partitions per drive. One of those Primary partitions can be an "Extended" partition. An Extended partition contains multiple "Logical" partitions, that, in use, will work just like a primary Partition. Extended partitions are a way of getting around the four partition cap.

To make your PC try to boot from the SSD before trying the HDD, change the boot order in your BIOS.

Yes. They are backwards compatible.
