In case you haven't already done so: Install CPU-Z or HWInfo64 - there are also portable versions available... with those tools it's easy to get the information you need (your current Bios version). Then crosscheck your version with the Gigabyte homepage which BIOS version will be needed to support your new CPU. If you have a BIOS version supporting your new CPU you will not need a new one but as @pavle mentioned: The newest stable (non-beta) BIOS will be a good idea nonetheless.

Thank you...I have checked and that is correct. I def need to updtae Bios. Would you suggest I download the latest one or F30?

For the X570 AORUS ULTRA to support 5800X3d you should at least get F36a ("Update AMD AGESA V2 1.2.0.6 B for Ryzen 7 5800X3D support"), so the even newer F36d is the one you should flash.

You need to know which revision of the motherboard you have from gigabyte before you flash.

I agree that the OP should update to F36d now. But keep an eye out for a final release of F36. Gigabyte mobo BIOS that end in a letter is a Beta BIOS, without a letter is the final release of that version.

Also agree here, there are the 1.0 and 1.1/1.2 versions of the board. They both have F36d as the latest BIOS version.

Apparently the Revision number for the GA boards is in bottom Left corner, you'd think they would put it right in the center with the rest of the Silkscreen info

Totally agree on that... but there is no finalized BIOS right now for the OP's desired CPU. Personally I would never install a beta BIOS but he might have no choice to do so if he wants to install the new CPU now.

@Cjev Conciliatory proposal: You (and others looking for help) need to provide all or at least as much as possible neccessary information in the run up to the actual question. To do so you might have to do some research, which is a good exercise in getting to know your own system btw. This will make life easier for you and everybody else. Providing information in bits and pieces creates threads like this one, where already answered questions get addressed again. In your case - based on how the thread evolved - I have the feeling you are quite new to replacing CPUs - everyone started from scratch some time - not really knowing what you are doing and while replacing a CPU is not rocket science you might want to consider someone with experience to do it for you or assist you doing it in person and not only on a forum.

Open your case and look at the bottom left corner for the White Silkscreen with REV or just number of 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 etc...

Although I am not new to using pc, I am new to changing the parts, something which i am keen on learning. I dont see what the issue is in this thread. I am grareful for all the replies, which have been of a HUGE help. I am now far more clear on understanding what I have to do, than I was before I posted. So you could say that this thread has served it's purpose and maybe I am wrong, but this is what these forums are for, help others. I now know that I my mobo is rev1, I know what bios I need to update my new CPU (F36d) and where to downlaod from. Thank you all :))

Glad you got all the info you needed. Enjoy that new CPU!
