Hi,

I've been having great surround sound in most of my games (using my xonar Dx sound card) except for The Witcher 2 and Dragon age 2...

Both these games, seem to downmix the sound of the surround speakers making them weak... sometimes I'll get voice echo in the surround speakers in Dragon Age 2...

In the witcher 2, no dialogue can be heard in the surround speakers when I set it to 5.1 sound with 6 or 8 channels in my xonar dx control pannel...

I'm sure it's just a question of finding the right tweak... Please give me your advise...

There is a 1.2 patch for the witcher 2 maybe that will help.. I use HDMI to A/V and don't get any sound issue's in the witcher 2.

You shouldn't hear dialog in the surround speakers unless the person is talking from behind you. That's the point of surround sound, to give positional audio, not to fill all of your speakers with sound.

what wile E said, voices should only come from the center speaker for 99% of dialogue.

sounds like you're used to upmixing, and mistaking it for 5.1/positional sound.

I was thinking if he was meaning if it was more than 1 person in the convo that the sound of the other person was not offset to the left or right.

Not by what he typed. It clearly says in the surround speakers.

If dialog is happening in his surround speakers in other games, they are not set up properly. DA2 and Witcher 2 are set up properly.
