Recently I bought this XFX card that shows on the backplate as RX590 Fatboy. When I first tried it something just felt weird about it. Since I never tried 5XX series cards I thought that RX590GME was like a codename or something for this card and did not pay much attention to it. Games ran just fine, good fps and no overheating at all. The thing that sparked my curiosity was when I tried to edit voltage curves but they are disabled, when I tried to lower the clocks or to increase them in any sort of way, the card would crash along with the entire system. Looked up on the internet and did my best research on Atiflash and amdvbflash. Atiflash overall has not been able to "detect adapter" and amdvbflash only recognizes my card on amdvbflash_win_3.20 and amdvbflash_win_3.15, all other amdvbflash revisions I tried could not detect the card. When I looked on the database, found the bios rom for the RX590 Fatboy 8gb OC+ (which is supposed to be my exact card) the thing comes when I go and try to flash the rom to the card, I get the following error:
Old SSID: 9586
New SSID: 9587
SSID mismatched.
I tried already using -f -fp -fs but the version that is available is the EXTERNAL version and it does not support forcing the installation with the SSID mismatch, tried RBE, changed SSID from the downloaded rom to match the 9586 SSID and winged it since this card is dual bios. As expected restarted with a vga led. Switched to 2nd bios, flashed the backed up one and kept trying. Tried the DOS version as well but it did not recognize mi card either. Card works just fine but I just want to have the bios that is supposed to be running on this card. And also forgot to mention that the card since it cannot increase or decrease clock speeds it max out at 1420mhz on the chip and 2000mhz on the vram. Really need some advise on this.
Sorry for bad english.

I'm at least somewhat sus about that card. Wonder if it's some new scam going around.....

I hope that it's a real-deal RX 590!

I also think it might as well be a scam card, im optimistic enough for now haha. The only thing I can think for now is that it might be a weird mining bios that was able to be flashed with SSID mismatch ignored.

Gpuz screenshot, same with sticker pics from the card back

Specs between the 590 and 590 GME are the same via SPs, TMUs and ROPS, only difference is the 590 uses Polaris 30, and 590 GME uses Polaris 20, then the Clock Speed difference. Your gpu stock clock should be 1580 via the sticker. And 2000 on the ram

Its not like you Got a 580 that has SPs Missing which is Also a 570....

You lost me at SPs... sorry:(. For what I see with this card it is indeed a RX590 Fatboy but it has a custom bios or something like that. When I look up the card on gpu-z it shows as a 580 and sometimes as a RX590GME nitro. I just want my card to have the stock rom and the real stock speeds.

sure thing

Ok go back into gpu-z and click on the Advanced Tab, then click on the Chevron Next to the Word General and Select Memory timings otherwise you may have to remove the gpu heatsink to get a pic of a ram chip.

That is exactly what I did not wanted to do lol. Various XFX cards I've opened up end up with issues, it is the only card brand that has given me issues... Anyway, here are the memory timings

I checked a bios that had the same subsystem ID and the same vendor ID (I guess) but this bios instead of 1420mhz it ran at 1440mhz. Tried the bios but that one is very unstable even though it is the same driver number and the same ID for RX590GME. Still not able to flash the card with the correct bios...

Ok Samsung FC Ram, in this situation Im going to suggest you remove the card heatsink and get a picture of a ram chip please

Ok Samsung FC Ram,
I did notice that on gpu-z it does show as Samsung memory but how should I go over with that? Using polaris editor to see what I could do, noticed that on the rom im trying to flash it just has options for Hynix and Micron memory as well as (autoselect) but I don't know if this is the reason why im getting such a hard time with this.

Ok the bios code must match the chip and ram that is physically on the card, which means if your card has Samsung FC physically on it, you must use a samsung fc bios, not a FB or FE, same for micron HF, HFB. Hynix AJR MJR

Please remove the heatsink and verify a ram chip via picture, upload it here

Okay so yesterday I could not take the card off bc I had to work all day. Today I took some time and took it apart, noticed that the ram was indeed Samsung (thank you for that) and my fear became true when I searched the chip number 215-0910066 and this is what I got: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-590-gme.c3505 and also this: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/gigabyte-aorus-rx-580-xtr.b4509 so the RX590GME or at least the card that I have with a fatboy sticker on it is an overclocked RX580 (indeed Polaris 20 as you said). It seems like thats it lol. So no voltage control or downclocking for me this time :). Or you could let me know if there is a way for me to modify voltages or if it would be better off with an RX580 bios on it, im not too confident in modifying a bios by myself. Anyways, thanks for your help!

Forgot to mention that the card as I expected died on me 2 times while putting it back together... I do not know what is the deal with the XFX cards but I feel their solder is crap.

I still tried today, flashed the bios for the RX580 Samsung FC and it worked, veery low clock speeds. No voltage control at least on this bios, the other RX580 bios did had voltage control but decided not to mess with it bc im pretty sure it is buggy. Any recommendations?

XFX RX 590 GME Black Wolf Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database the chip code matched this card as well. I think at the end Ihave this one.

I Want you to test with 1 of these 3 first for stability
