Hi all,
Wanted to use the xc bios for my black version of the evga rtx 2070 which is exactly the same as for the pcb and output ports.
The only difference within the two's is the binned tu106 gpu which should allow a better overclock margin.
I am not allowed to write the xc version of the bios as the gpu id differs.
Have tried to identify the bios header section in order to manually change the gpu id but with no luck.
Using the following document:
I am not able to find the bit header signature, is that doc outdated?
The advantage of the xc bios variant will be the higher room for the power draw.
If ever I will be able to change the gpuid in the xc bios, update the crc, will then any nvflash patched version allow me to flash the bios without the good certificate and by forcing the sub-sys id all in once?
I ve seen that there are two specific patched versions of the nvflash; one allows a non matching sub-sys id, the other to use an edited bios (with the same ids?)
Thanks for any help.
P.S. I ve also noticed that there is no bios for my black card in the db, going to attach it to this thread.
[update]
I can confirm that the nvidia doc explaining the bios schema / structure is for old bios versions - is anyone willing to give me some info about the new version? Thanks
[update 2]
My bad, my only bad
The nvidia doc is valid for rtx cards as well, have found the section with the ids I was looking for.
Is there any gentle soul that can tell me if the crc needs to be calculated on the entire binary or only for a specific section? Thanks!
[update 3]
Have finally modified the bios with the "1f02" gpu id, fixed the crc but the last modified nvflash version that allows hand edited bioses to be flashes is not supporting rtx cards - no luck
