My problem is as follows;

I cannot seem to get my computer to load windows XP. I installed windows XP and it partitioned and formatted my hdd, but now after the reboot all I get is "error loading operating system". I read that it may be that the motherboard is not setup up properly to recognize or comply with the HDD. Is there anything special I need to do to get the CMOS or Bios to work?

Everything else works fine for me except the fact now I cant load windows. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you very much.

My setup:
Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice Core)
Jetway 939gt4-SLI-G
Mushkin Winbond BH-5 (512 x 2)
Western Digital WD2000JS 200GB 7200 RPM 8MB SATA 3.0GB
Connect3D ATI X800 GTO (16 pipes unlocked)
Samsung SH-S182D DVD-RW DL
Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w

Sorry but this is my first build. As I am not a total newbie (I know enough to build my own comp) I am not sure what you mean by "check sata boot order in bios". There is no SATA boot order in my Bios. There is a boot order but not a "SATA" boot order. And if I am to check it, what am I checking to see?

i_am_mustang_man, I haven't yet. But I will as soon as I get home. I really hope that putting the HDD first in the boot order will work.

Ok, thanks for the help guys. The problem seemed to be a bad memory stick. I took out the stick and repaired the windows installation, and it seems to work now.

I wonder though if now that i have windows installed if i can put back in that memory stick and see if it is truly "bad". How or should I go by doing that?
