Cheers for taking the time to read this! anywho, i recently purchased a 5:1 sound card for my new soundsystem, however ive struck a problem. i used to be able to plug my headset using the earphone jack into my pc and it would work fine. now, however, when i plug it in, not only to my HD audio one on the front of my antec 900, but also even if i plug it into the soundcard itself, it still plays out of the speakers! ive turned it off and tried, but still, nothing.

If anyone can help, that would be great!

also, i have a question - if i have to turn to buying a USB headset, will that work or be overridden too?

cheers, kyle.

Sounds like a "setting", either under Controll Panel > Sound and Audio Devices or a setting under the soundcard software.

Also, with most motherboards you should 'disable' the onboard sound in the BIOS.

Ive tried all the settings (sorry i didnt specify beforehand) and even gone as far as disabling the sound card, but it still works! i cant get my head around it. any insight would be appreciated haha.
