Hi, take a look my specs...

I'm trying to get a decent perf on WoW... Obviously, it ain't the most demanding game, but I have some Mouse Lag and poor performance whenever I get into areas that have A LOT of people and objects around...

What are your suggestions to improve FPS? Whenever I change Shadow Quality from ultra to high, I get a HUGE BOOST... which is hard to understand, because I thought I had 2 cards that would eat that game alive...

Apparently AMD's drivers aren't good at the Ultra shadow setting. With WoW, a lot of it depends on network performance. You elude to that when you say there's an FPS decrease with a lot of people. I recommend searching about this topic as it is very, very common.

Shadows r the most gpu intensive item in most games basic graphics settings. So its very easy to explain why lowering it one notch makes a huge difference, every character casts a shadow and when u run into a buttload of characters on a bg or city then theirs a buttload of shadows that need to move and intersect with other ingame objects and mapping etc... That plus the latency with that many people and the game favoring nvidia cards.. just turn the shadows down, not like wow is about the graphics anyway.

Yup. i agree with them! shadows are aggresive on the GPU's when it comes to online gaming, you might wanna decrease that shadows quality coz it might be holding you back on your fps

Turn down shadows, make sure you're using DX11 mode and check "Reduce Mouse Input Lag" in the options menu.

the reason this happens when you turn down shadows, is that for some reason wow is configured to have no max on shadowrendering when on ultra.

It's not 100% fact what i'm stating here and i've read it a long time ago, but apparently on ultra shadows wow will just try to eat every possible resource your comp has left to try and improve it. It's an unsatisfiable beast :twitch:

First thing i advice when peeps ingame with superb systems complain is turn that down.
The mouse lag I cant give you much tips. Cept the obvious reduce input lag.

I use something called leatrix latency fix for a good latency ingame. What it does is, send twice as many packets from your NIC at the cost of a bit more upload and in some cases your cpu is taxed a wee bit as well.
