i just got into overclocking (got a jetway motherboard) and its fairly easy to overclock my processor, now im wondering if anyone knows what a stable number to O.C my CPU is..right now i have it at 236..out of 200 mhz, my CPU is a AMD ATHLON XP 3000+ 64....any help would be greatly appricated:rockout:

need MOBO and RAM details

my mobo is a jetway 754gt-p

ram is 1 gig kingston hyper x ddr 400

can someone help

it'd be nice if anyone knows anything about this so i dont f something up..

I use to use a 3500+ venice, it it was doing fine at 2.5ghz at about 1.4v, maybe a little more. 2.5ghz seems like a sweet spot on air cooling to me for the venice core.

I did accomplish 2740mhz, or 2.74ghz, but I had pushed 1.55V into it.

Mind you, I did these with the cooling performance of zalman's 7700 cpu all copper heatsink, and AS5 paste, and 1gb of OCZ DDR600 Platinum Elite Ram TCCD's.

Also at the time I was using a DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR board, but it also worked on the MSI K8N Diamond Plus motherboard, so it should work for you provided your mobo's FSB goes high enough.

hey sinner this is kind of random, but what do u get on 3dmark?

On air cooling, Ive seen the Athlon 64 3000+ get up to 2.6gHz stable. With water, you could probably push it closer to 3.0 GHz (maybe, it would be close to like, oh something like 2.88 or 2.91) Not sure what you would get with Phase Change, but Maximum PC put this down as one of the best beauties to overclock with. This, a 3800+ Venice core and the X2 3800+ (which I hear and read can get you about the same performance as an FX 57 or mebbe FX 60)
