I just read an amazing post! My 9550SE could be flashed and magicaly become a 9600pro. Sounded great in theory, however, in practice this has been a nightmare. As instructed, I added a fan to my stock cooling, then I ran atitool all night and found my card could run over 400/300x2...PERFECT! So I downloaded a bunch of bios files and away i went...saved my original as oldbios.bin. Tried many files with no luck, reloaded my oldbios.bin, then it posted, but windows will not recognize the card. I have now tried many more bios files with no luck either. Windows used to recognize the card as a Hightech Excalibur 9550SE. The Listed bios files only have 1 hightech...a 9800, so i went with the HIS wich is what the heatsink sez, my ram is samsung 5.0 according to the chart...128meg ddr 64 bit. If anyone has a bios that works with this card, please help.

If you have the orginal bios, getting different one shouldn't do the trick. Try reinstralling all of your ATI drivers.
