I want another color than this, but when i view the panel where i can change colors for different things, i cannot find anything that lets me change the color for this particular thing... Any ideas on how i can do that?

On Windows 7: Control Panel -> Personalization -> Window Color
On Windows 8/8.1: Upgrade to Windows 10
On Windows 10: Settings -> Personalization -> Colors

Yea, that's where i tried to modify it, but nothing seems to be changing that background color whatsoever... Any of these options that will do the trick, or? I tried looking within those options if it matches the color of my taskbar/quicklaunch, but no... Any other ideas?

That's where you change it, if it isn't changing then there is an issue.

Those other options only apply if Windows is using the Classic theme.

At my Win7 Pro, I am also using the Classic theme.
But at default settings, the classic gray aloud me to focus my energy at productive tasks.
And any productive software that I am using this has good contrast at tools and menus.
Therefore I was had to say goodbye at the AERO themes.

Okay, after fiddling a little bit with it, i just went back to windows 7 basic WITH transparent background. That got me to where i want it to be. Transparent background did the trick. Problem solved. :)

You could have installed windows 10.
