How do we see posts that were infracted/warnings?

Apparently, posts from nearly a month go were infracted very recently. I went to see what these posts were and none of them can be accessed saying I dont have permission to view something or other.

Also, why do users not get a notification that they were infracted/warned? I just saw the points in my profile by accident.

I always get a PM if I have been assessed points or a warning.

The offending post was likely deleted, and the reason for lack of permissions.

You should also get a notification in the form of a PM by default.

I did previously for something years ago, but not for the two that recently showed up that were from 2/19 and 2/21. Those seem to br recently infracted/warned though apparently the post(s) came from a month ago???

How do I know what we were infracted for if we cant access the post? Is it in these PMs we are supposed to get?

Out of your active points, the oldest one was deleted. As far as the PM not working, that is something @W1zzard would need to address. If you have a warning, you should get the PM, which would have the reason in it.

As to the couple you mentioned. I see edits, but the posts are still live.

Nothing from staff is in my inbox on those days.

I recall an alert for one prior to that...maybe? I dint know.


Point is I had no idea about these and I am pretty sure they were recently added though the posts were a month old. I have no idea who infracted me, nor the content. The expiration dates were also a month different for the same type of infraction, though only 2 days apart. One figures things like that are standard unless one was manually changed (why?).

Just make sure all users get notified is all. I guess it typically does happen...but seems like at least one other didnt get it either.

yes,and I messed up the dates.
I got 3 points on Jan 27th that I recieved no notification of.On Feb 13th I got a pm.

yeah... I cant access them from the warnings section that links it. All three linkable items (reason, points, date)are no access.

I also just looked at the warnings section, and it appears what used to be a default thing, there is now a check box to inform the member by starting a conversation. It is possible it was not ticked. I will address this in the mod lounge.

i just lost permission to reply in a thread but got no warnings or points or any email/pm's. and when i pm'd a mod asking why i couldn't reply in a thread I didn't get a response.

That system does not work with/is not tied to the PM system. If you get a thread ban, 99.99% of the time it is blatantly obvious why.
As for the response to a PM, I cannot speak for others on the team, but in my experience, I go with my gut on whether to reply based on the tone of the PM.

Oh a quick thing... why, if a post is bad enough to infract, isn't the part that was infracted always removed? In jest, say a guy I know's name reminds me of turdcutter (his name is casecutter), I get infracted for "trolling", never get the notification I was infracted in the first place (why this thread was started - I just noticed a few days ago). Thanks to sneeky via PM, I can now see what post was infracted, but it is still there and not edited. Was this simply an 'oops' too and it is supposed to be gone?

It makes sense to me that if something is bad enough to warn/infract, then the passage should be removed, period. Otherwise, if its ok to stay, it seems like it shouldn't have been a warning/infraction in the first place. I think this is a moderator training thing as I have seen some that were edited/deleted and others that have not been.

Yeah I can say I have never gotten messages and I am sure I have some infractions. To all mods, I hold no grudges and would love to be able to know what I did (for the ones that aren't obvious). I am pretty sure this is a voluntary gig so I tend to not take anything personally.

I would love to see some consistency on thread bands and cleansing through.

You show no infractions. That is why you never got a PM! All you have to do is look at your profile page and view a tab marked warnings. If the tab isn't there, you have none. As to the last bit, it usually starts with a report that brings on bans and cleanups. We cannot be everywhere all of the time.
