yea never done an upgrade before, do you reformat with your vista disc then use the windows 7 cd to "upgrade" vista?

or can i actually format and install with the windows 7 cd

can reformat the drive with both. I prefer to use UBCD or the manufacturers tools to do this versus windows.

If you go to WD's site there should be a downloadable tool to use with their specific drives.

As we don't know how it will work until Win7 is actually released I can't make any solid judgement, however, if it's anything like the Vista upgrade process you can install Vista, then "upgrade" to Vista and activate your OS.
