They are the same speed as the SATA port you plug them into. They are just SATA pass throughs.

I've installed these in laptops for clients that wish to use an additional hard drive internally. They work great, with no speed differences. It's a standard SATA connection so it will work at whatever speed the chipset offers. Buy it, you're good to go. I often buy an optical drive USB enclosure to go with it so that the owner doesn't need to swap out the drives if they need to read/make a CD or DVD.
