Hi guys,

So I'm scanning with SUPERAntiSpyware and so far at 1HR and 20min still counting...

I'm using a HDD and going to upgrade soon. Just wondering how long it takes to scan for you. I know some Malware programs scan differently as I'm scanning with SAS and MalwareBytes next [got some spyware here] :twitch:

I know it's smarter to go into safe mode but my usb keyboard doesn't seem to work once the screen comes up to push 4

Depends on the type of scan, the number and kinds of files, and the performance of the drive. I've seen scans take 4-6+ hours before. Quick scans usually run closer to a few minutes. Let it run its course. I always enable MBAM and other software to inspect containers (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, etc), and to perform deeper scans, even if it takes substantially longer.

Do you know what malware you've been hit with?

What are you running as your live AVAM (Anti-Virus Anti-Malware) scanning solution? Windows Defender? Or is your MalwareBytes a Premium version?

MLB (MalwareBytes) free, SAS (SUPERANTISPYWARE) And AVAST! and unsure of what it is but I'll clean it up

You need to provide more information.

The size of the drive does not matter. The amount of data and number of files on the drive does.

As Kursah noted, it also depends on the type scan you selected, quick or full. I just ran a Quick scan and it took 1 minute 8 seconds. A Full scan took 8 minutes and 35 seconds.

But it is important to note much also depends on your hardware. Scanning a SSD is much quicker than a HD, for example.

and unsure of what it is but I'll clean it up
Make sure you clean out the clutter before scanning either with CCleaner or Windows own Disk Cleanup. SAS is good at reporting simple cookies as Tracking cookies. It is critical to note that most tracking cookies are not bad. Plus, scan go faster without all the clutter.

MalwareBytes seems to be better at finding more then SAS. Think I'll use MalwareBytes more. All is scanning for now... (will post results soon)

I used MalwareBytes back In 2008 so

What usually do this and LINK

So what is probably two hours for you will be 3-4+ for me. All depends on the amount of data.
