How tight does the compression ring need to be?

I cannot get it further down the thread than this by hand. Tried to dip the compression ring in distiller water with a drop of soap detergent. Doesn't help much. I could try using my heat gun a bit in the tubing.

That being said, it feels tight enough to seal any leak but what do you veterans say?

I'm used to hard Tubing, this is my first go around with soft tubing

In the photo I took a compression fitting and screwed it as far as I could without using a tube to givda visual comparison between the two ✌️

Snug is all it needs. It wouldn't be able to go down that far anyway with the fitting installed in a block.
