24 bit fixed point
32 bit fixed point
32 bit floating point

how do i know what is the max for my sound card?
my card is audigy 2 ZS

and floating point is better than fixed point?
do i need my sound card to support floating point?

thanks

Audigy 2 ZS is 24Bit 96Khz.

is there any software can check this?

i finally found on the website its 24bit

If you know it's 24 bit why do you need to check? If you want to make sure it works set a game to 24bit sound and see how it plays.

Do you have a name for what that is? I looked in SiSoft Sandra but it didn't show my card as 24 bit even though I'm quite sure creative says it is. Look in control panel and post it's name and someone might be able to help you, I don't personally know any software that would do it, there are quite a few system info tools so take a look around.

it is SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

i have tried many sys info tools none of them show me this info

I can't find much info on that card but I think it might be 24bit, you could try running a game in 24bit audio to test. Personally I'd stick to using the creative because that will have better sound quality than a SoundMax.

cound cards will transfer 24 bit to 16 bit if it does not support 24 bit output

i can use 32 bit on my creative and the onboard too

the card just change 32 to 24
