I think this subject is on here some where but can,t find it o_O I have a gpu the fan does not spin. Some times it spins for a few seconds when i turn the PC on.But it does boot the system up.
I have another card that spins but fails to boot?Is there anything that can be done with that card?

What GPU?

Nowadays almost all GPU's have a fan-stop feature, the fans won't spin below 50 degrees C GPU.

It is a very old one Geforce 7600GT. Both or them are old the other one is GT430.

If they are the same card, sure you can swap fans. Otherwise you can order replacement fans on ebay/amazon and replace them yourself. Just be careful you don't use the screws they are tiny.

I see its an older card so you might not be able to find replacement fans. Last resort take off the fan shroud and ziptie some case fans.

Thanks for that Shrek :) But it is a very old card GT430 it want be worth spending money on it to fix it.I see the article is by one of our members Andy.:)

That would be an idea ,but i don,t have any small fans like that. The fans are the same size but the Geforce one is only a 2pin Red and Black. The GT one os a four pin Black Yellow,Green,Blue.

You can try removing the small fan and directing a case fan at the heatsink where the fan was. Usually something like a case fan moves more air than one of those old little GPU fans.

Recently followed a video like this :

It actually worked for me.
