I have just downloaded a coppy of virtual studio for my uni studies but problem is its an iso file. Well i no how to burn them onto a disk and install that way but my laptop that i need to use it on has a bust dvd drive an i crnt afford a usb just for this. So is there a way to install this program on my lappy without a disk?

ps i got it all legit from dreamspark, microsoft allow people studdying certain courses free downloads of certain programs

get winrar right click and hit "extract here" that will give you all the installers and files etc

I use PowerISO to install my ISO's with their virtual disk option.

Not sure if they have free trail or not will check.

Yeah you can use a program that emulates an optical disc. Like:
Daemon Tools (the light version is sufficient)
Magic Disc

I for one use magic disc, because daemon bitches around from time to time...

I use Deamon Tools to install most of my ISOs, or 7-Zip to extract the ISO and run the install manually.

i have another problem with this now, ive extracted the iso hoping to just install it like you all have said but when i do there is only one thing inside titled README, ill write what it says below. There is nothing else in the iso yet it says its 3.25 gb in size.

The readme says
This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system
that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification.
ive burnt it onto a disk yet when i put it my rig it says there is no disk inserted, could anyone help me with this?

mount the image useing one of the programs said above, this will solve your issue.

daemon tools would be the easyest to use for first timer.

Which program did you use to extract the iso?

If you used PowerISO, you have to run the Virtual Drive Manager (there'd be something similar to it in MagicISO and all the others mentioned here). By means of the Virtual Drive Manager, create a virtual drive - it'd be some drive letter not used by your pc. Then mount the image on that virtual drive and run it from there.

Hope that helps you. :)

i used dvd decypter of tpu but i will try the ones you have said
edit
ive used damon tools to install it. So let me get my head around whats actually happend to my rig damon tools makes my computer think its got a extra cd drive then loads the iso into that and you can then install what ever it is from there like usual as your computer thinks its just a normal cd? If so does it save a selected amount of hdd space just for that or will it only use whats free when needed? And if i uninstall daemon tools will all go back to normal?
cheers

Yes, that is what deamon tools it doing.

I don't know what you mean by extra hard drive space being saved though. Deamon Tools reads directly from the ISO file, so there is no extra hard drive space required. The only hard drive space used is the what is used by the ISO file, and the space used by installing the program.

Yes, uninstallind Deamon Tools will remove the virtual CD drive.
