How to limit fps with Radeon card ?

Hi

I have gpu 6800xt and problem when I enter a game menu the fps goes very high and so the temperature and fans. I set in Adrenaline fps limit to 120 fps but that limit was not effective I dont know why ?

I've read that Radeon Chill should work. Never tried that with my 6700 XT though.

And if OP uses Afterburner, RTSS comes with it already.

It should have an effect on every game in fullscreen or borderless window mode. What game are we talking about?

I don't like Radeon Chill. It turns my games into a stuttery mess. A fixed limit is much more effective, imo.

this already on. this problem in all games but worse in light games like Comanche for example.

That's weird. It should work. What driver version are you on? Have you tried a reinstall?

Yes I installed yesterday the new version 24.9.1

It work now my fps limit is 120 . It seems Radeon Chill has conflict with fps limit so I change it to be disabled

I second the use of RTSS here. It's much better to use a standardized way to do this that works with every GPU vendor than use the AMD-specific solution.
RTSS is great because it allows you to manage your OSD and globally set / toggle your frame cap in the same utility.
