Hi to all,

I have been facing some overheating issues and throttling of my laptop's i7-6700HQ CPU,while playing games.

My Lenovo Y-700-15ISK specs are:

i7-6700 HQ CPU,16 GB DDR4 RAM, NVIDIA GTX 960 M 4 GB GDDR5

I would like to downclock my CPU ,via ThrottleStop, but I don't know how to configure its settings!

I would please the creator of ThrottleStop to help me!

Thanks in advance!
Best regards!

You don't need third party apps for this task:

Just find a balance between playable FPS and heat output.

Dear FYFI13,thank you for replying to me!
I have already done that! :)
So I think everything will be fine in that case!

This didn't work for him, just as it doesn't work on my laptop....

He can't use intel XTU so he has to use Throttlestop to lower the multipliers and this way getting lower CPU temps.

On my gaming laptop I can use intel XTU and lowered all multipliers to 26 so this gives me a max speed of 2.6GHz (instead of my 3.4GHz turbo)

I'm getting a max temp of 60 degrees while playing GTA V and the CPU threads are max about 70% utilized while gaming, so still no bottleneck at this lower speed.
Results may vary on different games though, but thats all testing how far you can clock it down in speed without losing fps.
