I have 2 CPUs that i want to sell, 1 AMD Duron which has no original box or the platic cover for the pins and 1 Athlon Fx-62 which does have the plastic cover for the pins but no original box. Would it be ok to just put both of them into an antistatic bag and wrap the bag in bublbe wrap and put in a box? Will the pins get damaged on the CPU that has no cover? Or may be i can buy this cover somewhere?

Just do what you said it will be fine.

i hope u r right, thnx!

I suggest using a piece of sponge to set the pins into just to error on the side of caution to help keep the pins in line. Than just do as you say with the anti static bag and bubble wrap.

I usually just wrap them in bubble wrap, and ship them in a padded mailer. I've even shipped socket 478 CPU's this way and have never had a bent pin.

+1

I return CPUs I buy on eBay with the pretext that they were not shipped with the safety of the chip in mind. If the chip has pins, protect the pins. There have been too many chips received DOA that didn't have proper packaging.

for 775 cpus, i usually use a little antistatic bag and fit everything into an old music cassette box. It fits perfectly, the cpu doesnt move at all and is well protected by the thick, solid plastic box. then i wrap everything in boubble wrap and i ship in a padded mailer. i assure you it works! (for those too young, google music cassette and find what those littlle things were before CDs!)
