how to set up raid?

thats my motherboard i want to update my bios but i have raid 0 on my 2 hard drives, if i update my bios will i have to reconfigure the raid? or does that have nothing to do with my bios? if it does then can someone tell me how to do it? thanks

Never been a issue for me upgrading the the bios but you never know so just back up your files.

And if you have a spare HDD clone the drive with Acronis or some thing

upgrading the bios will not affect the raid as the actual raid configuration information is actually located on the drives themselves, all you would have to do is upgrade the bios & reconfigure the sata bus to RAID mode and that's it, it will pick your drives back up as they were before you upgraded. think of it as having the same effect of resetting the cmos on your board

Download the BIOS from Asus:

Extract the .ROM file from the Asus download.

Plug a FAT formatted USB drive into your computer.

Move the .ROM onto the USB drive.

Restart your PC, enter the BIOS, got to TOOLS then EZ-Flash, and if it is all working ok, you should see the contents of your USB stick listed.

Backup current BIOS settings to the USB drive, so you don't have to recreate the settings after the BIOS flash.

Select the .ROM file, then follow the on-screen instructions for flashing the BIOS.

Restart the PC when prompted.

Use the settings backup to resurrect your old settings (from the BIOS menu at boot-up).


Profit!


Sorry, had to go there. Seriously though, make sure you've still got the Asus disk that came with the Mobo. It can save your computer if the BIOS write gets borked.
