I wanna use the ASUS top version 4870 BIOS on my HIS 4870. Is it possible to use some program to flash it in XP? I heard some people talking about 128bit BIOS. Would someone tell me what to do? Thanks!

By the way, Do I need to re-install the drivers after I flash my 4870 BIOS?

there is a way i've found that works, using W1zzard's advice, ill look it up and post it here for you.

EDIT: here it is :D

USING ATI WINFLASH TO FLASH YOUR BIOS

you have to run it through the command prompt.

Step 1: create a new folder in the root directory of your C drive (so you can easily navigate to it in DOS).

Step 2: copy all the ATI WinFlash files and the new BIOS to this new folder.

Step 3: open command prompt and navigate to your new folder.

Step 4: use the normal ATIFlash command: "atiwinflash -f -p 0 4870.rom"

it should take a minute or two to flash. it will tell you to reboot. you'll have to reinstall your video driver. but everything worked for me after that.

WARNING: if you don't get a successful confirmation at the end of the flash, make sure you flash it again before you reboot. you will brick your card if you reboot before a successful flash.

Thanks dude, I just finished flashing.

Now my HIS 4870 is ASUS TOP 4870. ^_^

815/4000

sweet!

NP :) glad to see another happy 4870 owner, mine uses the asus TOP bios too, both cards run 825/4000 completely stable.

CCC auto tune wanted both cores to run at 870 but games crash instantly at those speeds.....

also loving the asus bios's fan profile, 95+% of the time they're dead quiet, and they only really ramp up under some major stress.
