Hey all. I have a old hp pc running Pentium D and on the motherboard (P5LP-LE Lithium) the 2nd system fan (back exhaust fan) doesnt work, i.e. it is burned. Every time the pc boots a system fan failure error is displayed.

My question is, anyone knows how to turn the error off? Ive searched everywhere in the BIOS and even updated to a more recent version but found nothing useful in there.

EDIT: Pavillion a1445n BIOS v 3.19

Chances are with the restrictive BIOS HP uses on their boards they are not going to give you an option to disable any of those alarms like you would have on a non-OEM board.

Might be something you will have to live with :(

Replace the fan.

lol. is that a joke. its not the fan. the fan output doesnt work its on the motherboard. i connected it through a 4-pin molex though.

At first that's what I was thinking until I read it again and saw 'on the motherboard'- then I realized you meant the fan header  Give us a little credit NT1 :)
