I'm still very much new to OC and I've had some minor success already. (See specs) However I'm a little confused as to what the HT. Ref Clock is for and how over clocking it affects my performance.

For instance at default its at 200mhz. However I can OC it to 280 without a problem. Just not sure its worth it. Can someone please break this down to me?

The HT Reference clock is multiplied by your CPU's multiplier.

So, for example, my CPU has an HT Reference of 200mhz, but the multiplier is at 19.

19 x 200 = 3800 mhz

Another thing to keep in mind is that your HT Reference also overclocks your RAM.

My multiplier is at 11.5 locked. So would boosting my HT Ref improve performance at all if the multiplier is locked?

Also I currently have my FSB OC about 20% and that gave me a nice boost. 300mhz. But I'm not sure what to watch for heat on the HT Ref.
