I'm not quite sure where this should be posted but i'll probably start here...

I've been getting this error for the 3rd time now and it tends to happen when I installed Windows 7 on my rig...

I've searched on the web about this error and it looks like I am not the only one. Though there are quite a lot of opinions if this is hardware or software related...

I didn't encounter this though when I was running Vista...

Just wanted to open up a new thread in this forum to check what others have done to remedy this issue.

Thanks! :rockout:

Though I never had the problem I did see that one of my bios updates solved it. Are you running the latest bios for your motherboard?

At the moment, I still didn't opt for a BIOS update since probable causes that I found online varies from video card drivers to Windows power options to BIOS settings.

I did try loading BIOS optimized defaults then I disabled C1E state then I ran Windows 7 on High Performance (min. and max CPU @ 100% - in turn disabling CnQ on the OS level)... I have yet to confirm if that error does not happen again.

Yesterday I was able to play Dirt 2 for 2 straight hours without encountering the error.

720BE does not like C1E on Win7. Even with no overlcock, C1E makes Win7 unstable here, 3 different cpus, 3 different boards.
