I can,t get 3DMark99 or 2000 to work on 2000

3DMARK99 on the board says i need drectx6.1 ,2000 ask for direct 7 and something about 3d accelerator?And one or both the apps say they come from somewhere else"Of course they do i can,t get on line with 2000.I have tried using the ones on Phils site ,and the ones from the 3dmark site with the same results. I have tried putting them direct to the drive as opposed to flash drive.I wish someone could do a updated integral version of 2000 and ME as well as 98se like they do for XP and one that has 3dmark built in.

Not sure if it will be as straightforward, though won’t hurt to try. I distinctly remember something about having to use hacked .dlls on 10/11 to make those ancient 3DMarks work. Will have to try and dig up that info.

I think he's trying to run it on Windows 2000 at least from what I read in the thread title

Gotcha, that wasn’t there when I replied at that moment. Yeah, in that case just installing the runtimes should do the trick.

For one of the benches to work, you need to copy a file to one of the futuremark folders. I'm going to be home later today & will see if I can find what's needed.

3dmark 99 just needs to be installed and exe run in compatibility mode W98.

W2000 you can get to run on XP and earlier, maybe W7 and that's it. I have not been successful to run 3Dmark 2000 on w10 or 11.

I have seen posts about this all the time and even back in the day.

Did you install Service Pack 4? I think it's needed for most of this stuff to work. The DirectX 8.1 installer should be enough. 9.0c is supported up to February 2006 version on 2000 SP4.

Also it's been a while but there's an "unofficial SP5" that features all service packs optionals and update rollups in one, worth a try

I don,t know what i am doing tried to download runtime for 2000 .

Follow the instructions for the 3dMark99 fix. Unzip the DDRAW.zip and copy the DDRAW.dll into the \3dMark99 folder. Let me see if I can remember what I did to get 3dMark2000 working...

BTW, what video card are you trying to bench?
