I cannot log into my Battlefield 2 player profile.

I tried logging into my BF2 player profile, but it says "logging into account server" indefinitely. What's the problem? Are they doing maintenance work on the master server?
 
Possibly.

This has happened to me a couple days ago. Minutes later I reopened the game to join a sever without any problems.

I played last night for hours with no problems. Two days ago, the game data became corrupted and I had to reinstall BF2 and also download the 1.9 GB 1.5 patch.

Every time I tried booting up the game, the screen went black indefinitely. I had to end the application which was "not responding" using ctrl+alt+delete in windows task manager.

I tried rebooting my computer, but nothing worked. I had to reinstall.

Could this have something to do with it?

I saw something in another thread about EA charging $10 to play some of their games online. But only if it was used. I bought the Battlefield 2 complete collection at an electronics store. It was not used, and it is a legal copy using a valid CD key.
 
The game is buggy as far and networking and master server stability goes. I've never had any issues after joining a new server once I'm past EA's crap although I have had more than 50 issues with the lobby and signing in through the crap that is EA's middle-man server.

I joined a Wake Island 2007 server which said it only had 24 out of all 64 player slots taken. I tried joining, and it said "server is full". But it clearly said in the server selection screen that there was room for 40 more players. What a buggy load of crap!

Also, I often join servers because it's playing a particular map, but it's playing a different map entirely.
 
I'll try to log into my profile in a few hours. Maybe it will work then.
