Die says Kepler , GPU-Z says Fermi.
Is the info from GPU-Z not coming from Windows?
DDU the drivers and try to install again?

Isnt gk208 a kepler 2 gpu?
Chips silkscreen is being replaced with a fake number GF116 is Fermi, not kepler.

You have a fake card, gf116 is 550ti or 450gts.

They dropped the tmu/Rop/shader count down and increased the ram amount. It is a weaksauce card. It is 1GB

Any advice on how i could fix this card?
Take a hammer to it and buy a brand new in box gpu.

Otherwise ask @siryoink

Can you upload the bios that on on the card? Hopefully some clues in there as to what it really is.

It's wild that anyone would fake a GT710, but here we are. Model number matches to a AFOX GT710 , ram chips are appropriate k4w4g164gc-hc11 DDR3 for that card, but the GK208-301-A1 appears to be poor silk screen printing. The chip doesn't look like a GK208 or a GF116. I've seen Radeon cards where they used a mobile GPU, and that may be the case here. Looks like a GF119 based mobile GPU, 410m or similar.

The bios detects as a gf116, so it might be a dummied down model

I had edited the reply to comment what it visually looked like. After a little more searching, that's a GF119S based Geforce 610. Seems like a new variant of the old Fermi scam. GPU-Z is probably picking it up as fake, but doesn't have the right info in it to recognize what it really is yet.

That card is a counterfeit, unsurprisingly made by/distributed by AFOX. It is a fake and it has the incorrect GPU type for the GT 710 (which uses GK208 core). This core has been intentionally remarked as a GK208, even though it is not one. GPU-Z is right.

Afox is one of the brands I've written off as entirely untrustworthy nowadays.

Real GK208B used in GT 710:

GF116 used in your counterfeit card is consistent with the GF116S used in laptops:

Honestly AFOX is beyond redemption, they're just dishonest and should be avoided.

Can you upload the bios that on on the card? Hopefully some clues in there as to what it really is.

This fake GT 710 model circulates quite a lot in Brazil, I've seen it tons of times. They're counterfeiting whatever GPUs they can these days regardless of segment

what a pity, another gt 610... don't buy these gpu, they suck.
this mounts 4 x 4gbit 2gb of vram, I wrote without looking carefully at photos.
When looking for a cheap gpu, buy quadro k620 (gtx 745) has latest driver support and is faster than gt 730/640 gddr5.

GPU-Z author here. First of all, thank you for your report, it's much appreciated.

Your screenshot shows Device ID = 1281, which is for GK208 without any doubt. It's also the device ID for GeForce GT 710

While they printed "GK208" on the chip, the capacitor arrangement is that of GF116 as @Dr. Dro mentioned

GPU-Z is able to determine the actual GPU model and will show the FAKE warning in case of a mismatch, just like in your case.

Could you submit a validation and post the link, just so I can take another look? No need to enter anything on the validation page, just hit submit and post the ID here

The date code of week 53 2011 pretty much exclude this from being Kepler, that much we can certainly assure.

Being either Fermi or Kepler, BIOS editors for these architectures are available. Should be easy to figure out what ASIC it is if we are provided a dump. It *could* be a GF119 derivative as well, there also exists a GF119S die used in a variant of the GeForce 610.

Regardless of what it actually is, one thing is for certain: it's as fake as a 3 dollar bill, and it's not the first time I see an AFOX low end graphics card with the same shameless remarking. The last one they had actually just scratched the original etching away.

Thanks for the validation. Confirmed, this is GF119.

There is a coding bug in GPU-Z that causes it to report "GF116", even when GF119 is detected. This will be fixed in next release. Without this thread I'd probably have never noticed.

you can't use recent drivers still it's out of support, if the vram works correctly i would keep it like this...
use gpu memtest to see if all 2gb works.

GpuMemTest

otherwise you can either try a 610 bios hoping that the vram doesn't give problems or try to modify your dump and correct the name and the strap.

I would not mind keeping it like this but it causes graphical glitches in games. Also how do i flash 610 bios??

test first vram is not the id causing the errors. on my gf116 i tried various device id and the gpu worked fine with the old drivers. for recent games the old drivers are buggy.

I explain better.
on my gf116 I first restored a working bios and then tried to change only the name. the bios was correct for my gpu, instead what i had found on it didn't work.

the one working with biosmod of device id worked the same.

That is assuming you can. Many counterfeit graphics cards have a single use programmable ROM chip.

If it doesn't, NVFlash will work, but you'll have to override the board type. Thing is, we cannot know the exact type of GF119 that is, so a bios for the 610 very well may brick it and make what's already a mess even worse.

Honestly though this graphics card is extremely weak. Consider purchasing something like a RX 6400, or maybe even an RX 550 or GT 1030 if you do not need a lot of performance.

question for the gpu-z author... what do you think about this validation? it is one of the first attempts at mod pascal bios. Thank you.
