I need help... Bad cpu benchmarks..

Hey. I have an i7 4790k.... And i ran my cpu benchmark and only getting a score of 4506.... on multithread... Then i compared and saw that i5 6600ks are even getting better score or the same...
Please help. I really have the feeling that cpu aint running at its fullest
 
Make sure your cores are all reaching their target turbo speed. Or else you have some other task running in the background keeping your cpu busy.
I score 7262 in cpuz-benchmark multithread.

I'm sorry for not understanding... but what do you mean make sure all are reaching their turbo speed? how do i check that?
 
Open CPUZ twice or run something like HWMon at the same time.

Then run the bench and check that the max speeds are correct.

you want the cores to read 4500 and the utilization to read 100% for the duration of the test.
 
Set that thread count to 8 instead of 4.

That appears to be it, he only playing with half a CPU.

Could be a windows thing, happened to me once before, you need to go Run (bottom left of screen, windows icon) >>Type "msconfig" then select boot, then advanced options and take a screenie for me.

And yes HT is enabled but it appears only 2 cores are hence only 4 threads.
 
Yes, so if it is set at 4 cores already try un-ticking "number of processors" so it does not show anything, then reboot and check CPU-Z again for core count.

you are god!!!!! now it says 8 cores and im hhitting the double!!! im so thankful ! Thanks for your time everybody.
 
Hey, always a pleasure, it happened to me once a few years back, took me a month to solve it :)
