cg-CS951412 clock generator isn't in the cpu/clock generator section of systool. i can get the numbers and the sliders to work when i use the ics950405, the top one, and i can even get it to write, but it doesn't actually effect anything. "clock gen" works for me, but it won't go any higher than 2.2 ghz with that program. i have the venice core and from other forums, i have read that with my board and the venice core (as opposed to the manchester core) they have successfully (and stably) oc'd it to 2.8ghz with no heat issues. here's my info:

msi rs480m2-il 7093
amd 64 athlon (venice)
512 mem
30 gig hdd
80 gig hdd
2x cdrom
windows xp pro

Does SysTool actually fully work with your motherboard, did it appear on the compatibility list?

you have the msi 7093 ? tried the msi 7093 mobo profile in systool?

i don't see any option or tab for a "profile" or, for that matter, a help file.

hardware monitoring -> settings -> motherboard

oh, yes, it shows it but it still asks for a clock gen on the cpu overclocking tab. even when it detects that motherboard, it still does not offer the clock gen i need. and i still see no "profile" load/loader/option?? anything i can do, or am doing wrong?

i have used clockgen on my system 2.2ghz, real stable no issues at all for the ms7093. i just set a shortcut in quicklaunch menu in case kids restart system everything stays at stock settings. After i use i check with cpuid and it shows changes, also use PcWizard to monitor changes, when minimized it has yellow numbers pasted in top right:pimp:

ahh that clockgen is not supported:

ICS951412 (unsupported)
MSI 7093 (RS480M2-IL)
This clock generator hasn’t really been designed for overlocking. Maximum FSB is 220 MHz. You may be able to get 229 MHz but this will run HTT and PCI out of spec, so I have my doubts that it will be stable. Implementing this clock generator is really low priority.

The fsb is set at 199 on this board even though it says in the bios that its 200, Ocworkbench reported the same issue in the review of this board. I can set my mem speed to 166 and lower my HT speed to 800 but i haven't really seen any issues with leaving everything clocked at 2.2. I get about 300 more cpu points in pcmark04. I am kinda new to the overclocking stuff (good pc knowledge otherwise)and had several failed attempts on my old intel board. When you say "unsupported", what does that mean, something in the program doesn't recognize something? Any input would be greatly appreciated. As far as stability i have benchmarked with sandra, futuremarks products, play games (doom3 SeriousSam2), burning dvds, officexp for homework and presentations, virtual drives, and a bunch of other stuff and haven't really had any issues where i had to restart or wasn't able to cntrl+alt+del to shut down a non-responsive program. As far as pci i don't have anything except whats built in and my vid card, sound works fine, and i run everything 24/7. I know for everything you mod there is a risk but i run a alot of monitoring progs an nothing seems wonky as of yet. I am going to check out systool though didn't know about this one. The only major issue i had was meessing up the bios somehow and no screen on boot so i just reset the cmos and everything went back to normal.

Hey Wizzard in all my monitoring progs i get an auxillary temp of 111 to 116 degrees celsius. My mobo temp is 31, my cpu is 26 and my vid card temps are fine. Where is this reading coming from? Both Speedfan and systool show this temp.Been making me nervous since it showed up before, and before i funked with anything. Also have added a 92mm fan and an expansion slot fan since saw this.
