sup guys
found this really nice deal for a Acer Predator Helios 300 3080 rtx max q maybe + 10750h a while ago, nearly went with the purchase but found out it has only like 80-100 watt, and i know how garbage low voltage gpu can be, so i was thinking about flashing the vbios for a much nicer version like 140 watt maybe, got no clue about it tho xd

i checked the power supply, it seems to be 230w and i heard someone flashed the bios of a 3060 to like 115w before and he only had a 180 supply
so if the laptop can handle 140w it would be a banger right ?

Dont do it, not worth it especially on a mobile, you want a brick, be my guest

For the amount of people coming here that have bricked their shiny new rtx 2000/3000 gpu and crying for help, is not worth the risk. nvidia took the privilege away due to mining.

GTX 1000 and older can be cross flashed, GTX 1000-RTX 3000 can't be modded. RTX2000/3000 can't be crossflashed.

RX Polaris and older can be modded and cross flashed. RX Vega-RDNA1 can be cross flashed but not modded, RDNA2 there is not enough info or data to know.

Just use the mobile or get a true dedicated desktop replacement laptop.

Just use afterburner

Which is simpler and easier to reverse course unlike a firmware flash which has caused bricking and undesirable effects such as killing the die or ram or smoking another component on the pcb.

That "laptop" is actually a notebook with how thin it is.

I haven't burned a gpu, but most like you have.
