Inexplicable stutter while gaming (Warzone 2)

Hello, i have a fairly powerful pc, i'm doing enough fps (capped at 140 needed for my monitor) but i still experience stuttering on Warzone 2

I have tried everything, from formatting, updating bios, disabling MPO and ULPS, removing GPU overclock, using process lasso for process priority, ISLC, but still nothing seems to fix it

Also tried disabling resizable BAR because i heard it casues stuttering on b450, but nothing

I'm starting to think the issue is the mobo because it's the only thing i haven't changed

Here's my specs:

CPU: 5800x3d
GPU: 7900 XTX
RAM: 16gb 3200
MOBO: Asus b450f Strixx
PSU: Seasonic GX-850

Can you please help me fix this stuttering? it's driving me crazy

Warzone is trash when it comes to performance/stutter, don't waste too much time trying to fix something that the developers broke. If other games work properly there's nothing to fix on your side.

hey buddy, is your ram a single 16gb stick by any chance?

It's 8gbx2 might try getting a 32gb just in case

I know, but most of the people I play with say they don't have issues

ok last 2 ideas, did you make sure they run at 3200mhz and are you sure you put them in the right slots for dual channel?

Two things, You might check your "max gpu frequency" slider under advanced settings and see if its something dumb like 3.1ghz, mine was and i took it down to the advertized boost clocks of the card.
Also might try raising your minimum gpu frequency if its still at 500mhz, try something like 2ghz.

Do you see anything spiking cpu usage while in game?

I've set mine to 2950, tried setting the frequency to 2ghz but did not work

The weird thing is I don't have any FPS drops, I still get 140fps but the game still stutters

Oh and one more thing that got me for a while. If you power plan is at power saver your cpu might clock down to below 1ghz

I have tried them at 2400, 3200 and also 3800, they seem to make no difference and yes they are in the right spot, my board says they should be on A2 and B2

Do you get it in the base multiplayer or any other game?

Haven't played warzone in 3-4 months but the MWII MP is butter smooth.

yes no problem on MP, only warzone stutters

Tried getting 32gb but it's the same

EDIT: just noticed gpu is running in x8 instead of x16 PCIE, could this be causing the issue?

Fixed the x16 PCIE thing, still stutters

Maybe try deleting the game cache. IF you haven't tried that already. My buddy was having major issues on a R7 7700X/3090ti and that did the trick.

Its the game itself, go on social media and put them on blast

Just formatted again, and same issue, so can't be cache

Probably but again, most people i play with have no stutters

The only thing i haven't changed is the mobo, should i try getting a b550?

I don't normally play this but since i play MW2 nightly warzone was already installed.. Hopped in and played a bit and zero stuttering here.
Same GPU here.

Have you tried running resource monitor while playing to see if anything spikes CPU?

definitely an odd one.

EDIT: you're definitely not alone, quick google found ALOT of people having the same issue on a wide variety of different hardware/configs.

According to various sources, I get the impression that game-specific limit settings result in a greater reduction in computer resource usage than intended. So the tip is all in the max settings. Try it, if it doesn't work, go back to the settings you want.

Did you play resurgence or battle royale? because most of my problems are on battle royale

How would i run a resource monitor?

Tried yesterday, same stuff

16gb 3200
this is not a lot even on a clean system when playing warzone.
i bet you have stuff in the background and your ram is just full. i see peaks within an hour of WZ2 into the 20GB Range and had stuttering issues even back on verdansk.
32GB of RAM should pretty much fix that.

I got my hands on a set of 32gb, still stutters

Rephrase: most people either don't care or take them for granted

We get this every odd game, and we get all the same tips to 'fix' it- it fixes nothing. Shit code will be shit code. Don't waste your time

16GB is more than sufficient for any game you can throw at your PC today. If the lack of 32GB causes stutter, its still a game problem. You're just using a lot more hardware to hide the problem, perhaps, if it even matters. If 32GB systems represent 2% of the playerbase of all games on the PC the world over, I'm being generous.

Rather, start killing services and background tasks because not only do they eat RAM, they also eat CPU cycles you need to counteract that stutter. Stutter is almost never a RAM issue and almost always a CPU throughput issue.

What does latencymon show when you experience the problem?

I have finally find the culprit, disabling radeon Chill and capping the FPS using FRTC fixed the stuttering issue
Awesome. Note for future: always test at stock everything.
First thing I did when I got my 7900XT was disabling all the AMD sauce in Adrenalin. Then from there, if you actually want a feature because you know why you want it, you toggle on. Its a much better way to troubleshoot anything.
