Input Lag while gaming.

I bought an LG 27GN7 in April and I have noticeable input lag. At first I thought it was the monitor itself and I sent it in for repair. They replaced the panel and I got it back. I reinstalled the driver, swapped mice, but I still experience input lag. Sometimes when I am in game, the game feels great and very crispy, however sometimes as time goes on my mouse feels more sluggish. What can I do to isolate the different parts of my setup to figure out what is not working? I have the Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC (MS-7B45) motherboard. The BIOS Version is American Megatrends Inc. A.00, 9/1/2017. The PSU that I have is the EVGA Supernova 750 G2 750 watt gold power supply. I bought it around 2017 so about 4 years old. As for my ram, I have the Vengeance LPX DDR4 ram from Corsair. I believe it is this right here: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK8GX4M1A2400C14 . When I first built my pc I had one stick of 8gb then later down the line I got another stick of 8gb. They are put in my second and fourth slots. For the specs of the ram, my task manager tells me it has a speed of 2933 MHz. I am not sure how to check the latency and any other specs. To cool my cpu I am using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED 66.3 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU cooler. When I play the game my gpu runs at about 37 Celsius and at 20 percent load. My cpu runs at 43 Celsius and 54 percent load. Could it possibly be an issue with the way my motherboard is processing my mouse inputs? I notice mouse input lag when I use my mouse but not as obvious for my keyboard. Thank you for your help!

Should I update the bios seeing as it's been 4 years?
Your MB, your choice.
If it were me and I was having those problems and can't find the problem... I, myself, would update the bios.
Read the manual and make sure of what you are doing.

Unfortunately I built the pc back in 2017 so I cannot return it now. I have a i5-8600K, 16gb ram, gtx 1060 6gb. Should I update the bios seeing as its been 4 years?

Erm I meant the monitor, also the 1060 was a weak card to begin with and is over 5 years old. Don't expect miracles out of it

Yea I had the panel replaced and sent back. Still having the issue. Although, yesterday I downloaded the motherboard drivers and updated my bios. It helped my issue. Now my input lag fluctuates. Sometimes it is really fast, sometimes it is sluggish.

Is the lag happening only in games or all the time like on the desktop or in a browser?

You've tested with different mice but have you installed drivers for the mice?

The 3 things I notice give you input lag are gpu, mouse, and display. If you've ruled out mouse it's an issue with either the gpu or display. Do you have the latest nvidia driver?

Is your display connected via display port cable?

If so set the following in Nvidia control panel (right click on a blank spot on your desktop). Under change resolution see if you can set refresh rate to 240hz or whatever the max is.

In manage 3d settings, global settings, set low latency mode to ultra, set power management to prefer max performance, monitor technology set to gsync, and under display click setup gsync and enable it there. Apply, restart and test.

The lag happens in both desktop and in games. I installed my motherboard drivers last night and for a little bit the issue was fixed. However today I noticed that the input lag fluctuates. Sometimes it is fast and other times it slows down. As for the mice, I have two glorious model Ds. They don't have drivers. I do have the latest GPU drivers and I just checked with GeForce experience. My display is connected by HDMI. My refresh rate is already set to 240hz in nvidia control panel. As for G-sync, I do not see the option in my control panel, and there is no "Set up gsync" option available.

I think you need display port for Gsync, not HDMI

54% CPU load could mean some cores are totally maxed out, what clock speeds are the CPU at while gaming?

HWinfo64 is a great way to measure things in game, as it records the Max values so you can check temps and clocks after gaming

My same thought you need DisplayPort cable for monitors that's what I learned over the years.

I switched out my hdmi for a display port cable and I immediately noticed a difference! But the issue of the input lag fluctuating still occurs. I downloaded hwinfo and all the cores are running at 4100 MHz. (This is what I overclocked it to). I also took a screenshot of the overall system summary if you would like that. I also ran the windows memory diagnostic tool (which took around 36 hours) and the logs said no issues were found. Since I have two sticks of 8gb ram, I decided to test one stick at a time. I noticed that when there is only 1 8gb stick, the refresh rate on my monitor fluctuates up and down. This occurred with both of the sticks individually in the machine. I know this because I pressed on the menu button on my monitor and saw the refresh rate as it changed back and forth. This does not happen when both sticks are in. The refresh rate does not change when I am not in game. When I am using chrome or on my desktop, it is fine. Could this be the issue?

If your refresh rate varies, that means you have Gsync or Freensync active

try disabling it

Im not sure how to answer this but here is my nvidia control panel setup. I have zero input lag. or at least close to zero. Hope this helps. Either this or your hardware. (The different options to select may look different on your card)

I think its a terrible way of reducing latency, by reducing frames.
Thank you for this! Is there any reason why you set low latency mode off?
So is your problem solved?

It is also including the cpu which the processes have to go through which takes more time, which is not what you want. You want the graphics card to only do the "graphics part"

No unfortunately it hasn't. I noticed an improvement when switching from hdmi to display port. I have tried using the windows memory diagnostic tool to check my ram and there was no issues found there. Is there anything else I can do to ensure there isn't anything wrong with my ram or cpu?

Gsync is a few menus down, on the left

Yea I disabled it but It still isn't consistent. Is there anything else I can do to make sure my ram and cpu are working properly?

have you tested with a different monitor? there is a possibility that you got a faulty one even though you said, you got it repaired? Idk why they just didnt give u a new one. Its good there was an improvement, that means its not the GPU itself. I dont think the cpu would have any affect on that, have you tried switching what port the mouse is in. (Put the mouse in the keyboard usb, and the keyboard in the mouse one?
Possibly the game itself what game where u playing? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I have not tested with a different monitor, I only have access to one 240hz monitor. I did send it in to LG and the box came back with a sticker that said it passed the visual inspection. I just tried switching the usb port and I plugged my mouse into one of the usb 3 ports I have. At first it felt really good but about a minute in I started to feel the sluggishness again. The game I am playing is Valorant. What I have trouble understanding is why it starts off fast then gets slower over time.

Benchmark Scores Nyooom.
What I have trouble understanding is why it starts off fast then gets slower over time.
heat usually does that

have you touched any mouse settings what so ever? we have to rule out things so we know what the culprit is

Could something other than my cpu and gpu be heating up? I have monitored the temperatures with msi afterburner while in game and they do not go past 60 Celsuis.

I have the Glorious model D and there are no drivers for it. I reinstalled the software and I hit the reset button so everything would go back to default. I played the game and I did feel like there was a longer time before I experienced the lag. I have also attached screenshots of my afterburner while I was playing the game. I closed the game then took the screenshots.

So it's not the software or settings for the mouse then because you said it felt a little longer before the lag kicked in. What the heck is it. This is so bizarre.

Yea that was a one time thing or something. I just played again and it happened immediately. I don't think there is an exact time it takes for it to happen.
