I was curious as to how possible this might be:

I currently have 12 gigs of ram and was looking into taking maybe 8-9 of them and installing windows onto a Ramdisk. Is there some sort of boot loader that could create a ramdisk and then continually save it to the hard drive kind of like hibernation does with windows except instead of dumping all the ram onto the hard drive dumping everything off the hard drive onto ram during startup.

Well, not that I know of. Windows 7 will pre-load a lot of stuff to RAM with 12 GB of it available. Turn off Paging files all together.

Windows 7 will do Virtual HDD booting, so if you know a way to do it in Vista, it should work for 7 as well.

Yeah i have pagefiling turned off, i haven't been able to find any sort of good ramdisk for win 7 64 bit yet though =|

Try searching for a Ramdisk for Vista 64-bit. It should do the same for 7.
