Do anybody know how serial numbers are asigned to Intel Mobo's?Please look at http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/rl/rl_proc.htm

The following board revisions (AA numbers) support these processors:
C27650-209 or later
C27646-210 or later
C26719-211 or later
C27648-208 or later
C40926-202 or later

My mobo# is C27646-209

Intel says my mobo does not support Celeron 330 2.66 ghz
but what about this:C26719-211 or later or later-aint my mobo later??
Thanx

The statement “...or later“ refers to the dash number of the AA (the three numbers following the “-“). If this number is greater than the number listed in the table, the board supports the associated processor(s).

Your board would be associated with the C27646-xxx revision. Since the oldest revision that supports that processor is C27646-210 and yours is c27646-209 it does not appear that your motherboard would support that processor.

However, It may be fixed in a BIOS update since the 865PE chipset should be able to support a Celeron D. Look at the release notes for the BIOS updates for your board and see if they say anything about adding support for that series of processors.
