Task Manager does not show download (Internet) speeds. It only shows your "local" network speeds. Local means just the network speed as seen by your Ethernet or wireless adapter to your router or wireless access point (often part of your router).

Your system is working fine. :)

Hi,
Well you can right click on task manager network graphic and select show network details and get a little more info.

True but that is still of your the network - not Internet speeds.

Hi,
Well yeah ms took out all the ip addresses so it's pretty much useless info.

It can still be very useful for network admins. And in your example, it shows you have a 1Gbps connection - that's good information.

Hi,
Think the last version that showed ip's in and out was win-7 ? I'm on 11 atm don't remember if 10 did or same as 11 :/

I don't think W7 gave Internet speed information - only network. In fact, I don't remember TM ever giving us Internet speeds. I know I've been using speedtest.net since XP days. If TM gave us that information, I don't think I would have kept using speedtest.

I have both W10 and W11 here and only local network speeds.

Oh, forgot I had a W7 system here and nope! Only Ethernet or wifi - depending on how connected.

Hi,
I was mainly talking about 7 & maybe 10 showing ip addresses of traffic not speed.

Resource monitor or process explorer will do the job?
Yes ResourceMonitor works fine... but in TaskManager is totally wrong value... in windows 10 i believe it works..

Thanks for info..
I just do what you show .. and yes there is correct reading... but why TaskManager do wrong value... i don't get it in "Advanced" Tab is ok but not in simple mode..

You are talking about different information - none of which is Internet or "Download speed" information.

Also, it makes sense for TM and RM to show different values; they are not looking at the exact same things at the exact same point in time.

It's the same reason hardware monitors will show different CPU speeds and CPU temps as examples. The different programs have different sample rates and different sample times. And since those values can and do vary widely (even within the 500ms), the numbers are often different. They may also use different sensors and protocols to convert the raw data into the presented data.

I have CoreTemp and HWiNFO monitoring my CPU temp. A couple seconds ago, HWiNFO was showing 25°C while CoreTemp was showing 28°. Right now, HWiNFO is at 26° while CoreTemp is at 24°C. Am I concerned? Not in the least.

You likely have some tunnel? Is it PPTP or L2TP connection?
