My question is about bandwidth limits and setting custom resolutions and refresh rates to achieve a better result than the default available on certain monitors.
My situation is with a Samsung Odyssey G7 2020. This monitor is 2560x1440 @ 240Hz DisplayPort 1.4 powered by a 3080Ti.
1440p @ 240Hz with 10 bit HDR bandwidth needs exceed DP 1.4 capabilities. The next lowest option in NVCP is 144Hz. I believe the max limits should be about 205Hz for 10bit 1440p.
If I set a custom resolution with the only changing factor being the refresh to lets say 200Hz, will I be getting uncompressed 10bit HDR 1440p @ 200Hz or will there be some form of compression still happening since I am above the next lowest default in NVCP of 144Hz?
@Inle Could you possibly shed some light on this?
