Got the new Dell Alienware 27" OLED 360hz monitor. Computer was totally stable, now i get 2-4 crashes per day while gaming (blue screen)

at most i have discord streams and a you tube page on the second monitor while gaming

the first issue i had immediately after setting up the new monitor was my games would often crash the moment i'd hit alt+tab keys to switch windows/monitors

then the intermittent full PC crashes started, often during an intense event or in game interaction (once in a menu)

running two dp monitors from the 4080. an old 27" dell 1440 144hz and the new one.

any ideas what could cause this? haven't tried any other configurations like HDMI on the second monitor or the integrated graphics for second monitor but there shouldn't be an issue running two high res/framerate monitors on a 4080 right? I'm not well versed in this

computer specs in bio - everything running at stock values while i try and track down the cause of the crashes. Any ideas welcome, Thanks!

Without more info, 360Hz might mean that your GPU is peaking extra hard in power draw and transient spikes compared to previously when the 144Hz monitor was acting as a bottleneck and preventing your GPU from pulling so much power.

You can easily test this theory by setting a framerate limit in game to 144fps whilst leaving both displays active and more importantly, leaving the 360Hz display at 360Hz still.

If your PC games stably for a few days at 144fps then you've also ruled out the two monitors at different resolutions/refresh rates being a possible cause. At that point you need to treat the PSU as a suspect and possibly the GPU being unstable at full load.

If your PC is still crashing even at the much lower framerate, I'd start with a full DDU of all existing graphics drivers and deleting old displays from the registry before doing a clean install of the Nvidia drivers. There certainly shouldn't be any issues running two high-refresh displays at the same time. I know many people who do that because they want their pair of displays to match and buy a second gaming display even if it's just going to be for comms/YouTube.
