Ipod internet slow

hi i have a 3rd generation ipod and the internet at my house is really slow on it. on my computer it is fine and on the laptop which is wireless it is also fine. when i try to load things on my ipod however it is quite slow. my ipod works fine at other places just not at home so im guessing it is something with my setup. my wireless router is a linksys wrt110. is that where the trouble is? if so what kind of router might work better? i would really like to watch netflix movies instantly on my ipod haha

My iphone is usually on a linksys WRT54G or WRT54GS, either at my brothers or my place and its been alright. cant say ive watched netflix though. At home i mostly just install apps, which are fairly quick, comparable to when on 3G.
