Hello guys,
Recently, I have moved from windows 7 to windows 8.1, and I'm having trouble getting any overclocking app to work.
My card is from Sapphire (an HD 6950 that came with unlocked shaders out of the box), and I have used Sapphire's own OC tool, Sapphire Trixx.
However, the strange thing is, the card is unstable even at stock voltages, something that did not happen in windows 7.
I have tested every version of it, including the latest v4.8.2, but it simply doesn't work in windows 8. Sometimes it just crashes after opening it, sometimes it opens normally, but as soon as I adjust a slider, the screen goes black and I have to hard reset the computer.
I have tried other OC tools, such as MSI afterburner, but they don't allow voltage control, something that didn't happen it windows 7.
Is anyone else having similar problems?
