Take slow DDR4 2133P as an example. I have been told that the "P" stands for parity meaning it is server RAM (ECC) and not desktop RAM. But I have my doubts. Can anyone here confirm it one way or the other? I'm wanting idesktop RAM.

Thank you. So, it is usable as desktop memory then, right?

yes, iirc it is the default speed of DDR4 anything above is OC'd (someone correct me if i am wrong) if a stick is 2400 say, it is clocked higher by the sticks bios/firmware (is this correct?)

You are correct, and at the end, you are looking for the Spd, which can be set just as an XMP/DOCP can.

An example, Corsair released new ram where the board defaults sets this kit to 2133. If you just stick them in a board, the SPD profile delivers 3200, yet the xmp shows 3600.
