Hello every one,

Please look into following details of hardware and tell me if it is right build.

Processor Intel 3.1 GHz LGA 1150 i5 4440 4th
Motherboard MSI H97M-G43 Motherboard (Black)
RAM G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-1600 MHz 4 GB (1 x 4 GB)
PSU Cooler Master GXII 550W RS-550-ACAA-B1 550 Watts PSU

Another option for motherboard is MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Motherboard. But it costs more than the one I have enlisted above also my case may not support ATX size (as I am not sure what form factor it really is, for now the current mother board is MicroATX)

Would it be nice build I may add a Graphics card later next year by February or March...!

Thank you.

I would stick with that board you have originally instead of a Z series board especially if you do not intend to get an unlocked processor. So Your current build is fine but I would also look to getting a pair of ram sticks at 8gb (Basically 2x4gb) as dual channel memory really ups the performance.

+1 on getting dual channel memory...

Looks fine if you are not playing games as the integrated GPU is pretty weak for that.

That rig is fine but get an 8GB kit for dual channel

Not 100% sure on the PSU. It's an Enhance Electronics OEM part, and the 650W version actually failed a couple of tests on HardOCP.

Oh yes I am going with 2*4 GB option for RAM.

No I have a 9800GT graphics card may be I will buy a GTX series by March but I am concern about the PSU would it be ok with 550 W, as I own that.

and
@GhostRyder, @TRWOV, @EarthDog- Thank you for such fast reply.

I came through this review http://www.hitechlegion.com/reviews/power-supplies/37960-cm-gxii-550?showall=&start=3 and it seems that If I get a gtx 750 or gtx 650 (2 Gb module), still the PSU can take that. What you suggest...? Should I stick with this or Should I buy a new PSU while getting a new graphic card...?

@EarthDog I did not understand that...will you please elaborate.

He won't push it beyond 50% IMO, unless he plans to get a 290X later, so I don't think it'll matter but yeah the PSU is on the lower midrange. These kind of units usually fail right at or beyond their specified capacity.

Depending on the price there might be better options though.

EDIT: There are some reviews for the GX550 but only one for the GXII 550. Still the voltage drop is substantial for 12V. Under >70% load it dropped to 11.75v, still within specs but worrisome.

OP, how much is the GXII 550 going to cost you? And where are you located?

If you already have the PSU it's fine, I would just try to keep the load below 350w. Your CPU and motherboard combo won't stress the PSU that much (I think you'd get 100w or so under full load) so try to limit your GPU power budget to 200-250w (pretty much everything out there except for the highest end models).

290x is high end video card (If I will go with the price), how ever I am looking towards low end video cards such as GTX 750 or GTX 650 (they are 1/3 of 290x in price), I can buy a new PSU whenever I will buy a new video card but still I will stick with some low price range option.

Location- India

I already own that PSU (sorry I did not mention that in my query post) and it cost INR- 5337/- (I think around 86-87 $)

If I will go with this Than I don't think so that in near future having a GTX 750/650 will hurt me anyway...

So for now I am sticking with the build (as per comments it seems that I don't need that MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Motherboard so I will go with the "MSI H97M-G43 Motherboard (Black)".

Thank you guys I was really tense about this whole build thing shopkeepers here are not very helpful when we ask something. someone told me about this forum...again thank you.

You'd be fine even with a 770, heck, a 780 has a TDP of 250w which would fall within the range I mentioned.

If you intent to get a 750ti or 760 that PSU is good.

Thank you @TRWOV for your view...

I have one more small question-
This the RAM I am going with

G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 (F3-12800CL9S-4GBXL) when I searched the net I get that it is for Socket Type LGA 1155

here is the site which tells the same
http://www.outletpc.com/hn9271-f3-12800cl9s-4gbxl-ripjaws-x-series-4gb-ddr3.html

Would it be ok to add this on mobo as enlisted in query post

Processor Intel 3.1 GHz LGA 1150 i5 4440 4th
Motherboard MSI H97M-G43 Motherboard (Black)

Please help me with this- on the other hand as much I know what matters is the memory series till it is DDR3 it should be supported by any mobo with same memory support, as Core i5 4th Gen is also supporting DDR3.

Any view on this.

@SNM , first of all, welcome to TPU.

anyway, like earthdog say ram is ram. But you have to make sure though because you might buy DDR2 rams wherein your board support DDR3. Or you might buy DDR4 but your board is only for DDR3 ram only.

Dont pay attention to high speed ram as well if you only buy these

Just buy the 1600mhz DDR3. the tightest 1600MHZ you can buy like CL8 or CL7 or CL9 is ok as well. But believe me, CL11 is also ok. You wont see or feel that much difference especially your only getting the H97 board. actually, B85 boards is also ok as you are not overclocking anyway. depending of course if you are looking for like 6 sata HDD connections, and the bling bling and so on.

Yes, using DDR3 as the OP already said, was a given. :)

Id go 1866/2133 even on a locked platform. There is a bit of performance left on the table (not much at all, but the difference in price between the two is near nill) with 1600 vs 2133 with similar timings.

Thank you, No I am going with H97, and no doubt that I am not going anywhere near Overclocking or something. :-D

Edit:
And I thing the more I will think..The more I will google and the more I will google (with less knowledge) the more I will delay...

I think I am ready to invest now..

Going with original Build (as asked in query post) as it is.... :-D

Thank you every one for your support and knowledge sharing..it really helped me alot...will share the pics once will get them.... :-D

@EarthDog @TRWOV

Guys I have small issue after building system, Sound from my system is very very low, however the same was working all nice on the old rig.

But now it is very low..even it is not audible.

I have done re-installing Audio Driver
I have checked every setup properly (such as Realtek Audio System, System Sound, VLC player sound).

Please suggest what to do...meanwhile I will keep google-ing the same...

Also attaching CPU-Z report file if you need any information.

Are you sure you connected the plugs to the correct jacks? There are two green jacks but one is for surround speakers which give the effect you're describing. The correct jack is usually right besides the mic jack (pink).

If the plugs are correctly placed, go into the Sound Mixer (the small speaker like icon on the taskbar) and turn up the volume.

Yes I have placed that in right jack the 2nd no 1st row (Green on right side of pink). (Attaching image)

Sound is already on full. (Attaching Image)

EDIT:

OK let me try that too...and yes VLC is set to top (From settings menu)

Go into the Realtek HD audio manager and see if you can disable surround sound or set speakers to 2.0. Also, have you set the volume at maximum on VLC? I know Windows Media Player is set to 50% by default, I don't know if VLC does a similar thing.

If that doesn't work uninstall the Realtek driver ( Control Panel > Programs and features) and use Windows Update (Control Panel > Windows Update) to get the latest WHQL driver.

Ok Trying something else too...wait for my results... :-(

Edit:

I got nothing...Even on top volume(in every possible setting- vlc, system, realtek..) I listen nothing... Now it is really very frustrating...please help me out...
