I bought pc that for some reason was crashing multiple times. I tried everything but it didnt work. Then I enable xmp and now when i ran testmem86 test i dont get even a single error (before without xmp i got over 500 errors). I am just curious why turning on xmp fixed my issue.
My specs:
cpu: i9 7920x
motherboard: x299 tomahawk arctis
ram: 24gb g.skill trident z 3000mhz (8gbx3)

XMP doesnt just changing timings it also bumps voltage, both for the RAM itself and also for the IMC.

So most likely its the voltage bumps.

A lot of it is indeed this.

The other part is that X299 tended to use a ton of volts to be stable to compare to mainstream boards, but was not as nasty with ram as X99 was.
