I thought buy a new laptop and I can bring outside with me and move others place, for example, coffee shops, libraries, outside the park and workshop etc. If I build a PC, just stay at home all day playing the game, watch Youtube. Nowadays, It is an era of the high tech, we can move outside with laptop and can do more things. 5G is better than 4G, and the technology is growing up every years, should we stay outside instead of at home. Any suggestion for the laptop? I browse the Apple site, Mac Pro is great good but too expensive. Do you have any others suggestion?

Get a phablet when your cell contract is up?

Or scare up any laptop capable of surfing the web - pretty much anything made in the last 10 years.

The title of your post has nothing to do with the context of your post. :(

Your title is asking, "Should I buy a laptop or build a PC?" Great question and my answer would always be, "Build a PC. But, if you also need a mobile computer, buy a laptop for that."

However, the context of your post indicates you have already made up your mind to buy a laptop. And to that, I agree with @sLowEnd,
Not enough context

What's your budget? Intended use case?

Edit comment: Fixed typo.

No, it's better to have a PC for real stuff + a portable device capable of text editing browsing and making presentations

It's not a good idea to train a neural network from James Webb telescope infrared imagery while you're drinking your coffee in Starbucks running on batteries.

It's not a good idea to render a Pixar movie while you're surrendered by pigeons in a park. It's better to feed the seagulls and pigeons and catch some bugs and crickets and probably play some music for them which every cassette player can do.

If you buy an expensive laptop, you'd stay next to it while you're in coffee shop, library...
Why wouldn't you just watch a soccer match that is playing on the coffee shop's TV?
And what would you be possibly doing in library other than reading pdf? Do you want to play cyberpunk in the library and stream it to your friends?

I agree. Always PC. Unless portability is necessary, then PC can be chaperoned by an average laptop/tablet.

Outside? Out of the home, where all my important things are, there's AC and a toilet nearby? With how the weather is lately - last week it was over 30°C every day here - I wouldn't go out even if someone paid me for it.
Either way it's a weird question. Laptops and desktops are different devices for different usage scenarios. Also, don't use a gaming laptop in a public place. Those things are loud and obnoxious, all while making you look like a douchebag.

Looks like you want a M2 MacBook Air, if you want portability, battery life and productivity on the road. It can do basic games as well.

Stationary desktop PC will be potentially faster and more feature rich, though.

Hi Bill_Bright,
The first thing I want to say is "thank you your comment and suggestion", something like that. I want to buy a laptop instead of PC. Because it's convenience when I bring to work or out of home. I found Macbook pro was great good when I compared with its different model on the site. But the price is great expensive and I don't compare with others laptop. Do you any suggestion for that? Thank you.

Hi Lei,
Wow, it's great! Your comments make me fresh and make me smart. Reminder me that isn't good for out of home use. I search the information and make my homework again.

Outside? Out of the home, where all my important things are, there's AC and a toilet nearby? With how the weather is lately - last week it was over 30°C every day here - I wouldn't go out even if someone paid me for it.

Agree! It's okay. I will think about it. :toast:

Laptop vs desktop, the only person in the world that can answer that question is yourself.

What is your budget, since you answered you will only read dpf, watch youtube, surf the net. I would find a laptop with a AMD processor, they have great battery life vs intel laptops. Any AMD laptop thats under $700 will be great, even used laptops will still work.

You still need to get your vitamin D, go outside, get some shine on your skin.

Thanks your great comment here. I appreciate your suggestions. I should ask myself about this demand deep inside. Then, I will look for a good choice.

You can build a nice pc for home, and just use your phone when you are out.

When I am out I dont want to carry an expensive laptop with me, nor do I want to leave it in my SUV..

i used to have this setup a while ago .... a surface pro and a desktop at home...
when i go traveling the surface pro is light and has good battery and it allowed me to play certain titles with ease...
pretty sure the surface pro is much better now than it was 7 years ago
