So I play games on my computer like Minecraft and I check in task manager that my cpu usage is only 15-25 percent and my GPU is around 40-50 percent

my question is does low cpu usage mean something wrong with my cpu and is this a bad thing to have low cpu usage

for a more demanding game I usally only see my cpu usage go Up to around 30-50 no higher

is low cpu usage a bad sign Or is it just normal

Btw my computer is a gaming computer I mostly play Games on it

Please fill in your system specs so people have inform to work with.

Depends really what application you running on your rig, some apps are able to use all your cores/threads but most of them will use just a few that is case when it comes to the games like a minecraft....tho' of course some newer games easily can use more CPU power but in reality when it comes to the gaming you want MAXIMUM usage when it comes to the GPU and low as possible when it comes to the CPU....

P.S.If you want to see how your CPU is acting when is 100% usage download and run cinebench R20,Prime 95,IBT.....

Yes my cpu usage is quit low but my you usage on my GPU when I play Minecraft is about 40-50 percent

GPU is around 40-50 percent

It seems you are using vsync? 60fps, 60Hz monitor?
You did not specify your monitor in the system specs.

Well you have really good GPU and again Minecraft is not really demanding in anything + you probably playing that at 1080p resolution maybe with the 60 fps cap....If you want to stress test your GPU then try 3Dmark Time Spy or Firestrike benchmarks

My bad my monitor is 165 hz and in Minecraft I get average from 150-300 FPS

vsync and gsynce are both off

God damn.. not sure what magic you have, but thats like the 3rd time he was asked... finally did it! :p

Anyway, good gpu and good cpu, low resolution and MINECRAFT. Makes compete sense what you are seeing! As was mentioned already, run something that actually stresses your system like 3dmark time spy or fire strike.

You do not want your cpu pegged at 100% when gaming. Much lower is normal. GPU use, in DEMANDING titles should be at 99%.

OP should run prime95 small fft avx2 and furmark if he would like to see 100% system load. Then we may see a thread about BSOD when system is 100% load.

His questions were,
my question is does low cpu usage mean something wrong with my cpu
and
is this a bad thing to have low cpu usage
And the answers are:
No
and
No.

No, but you are probably CPU limited. Just because an application isn't using 100% CPU doesn't mean that the CPU isn't the bottleneck, particular with CPUs today with a lot of cores.

With that said, that sounds pretty normal to me.
