Hey guys!
I bought a second hand pc back in January the pc it self work wonderfully but I have an issue with the ram heatsink going really dull color after booting the system. This started happening on its own like 2 months ago. During the start up it works as it should the brigthness suddenly drops. Its on a G.Skill 3200Mhz in Gigabyte B450 Aourus Elite motherboard. Already tried resiting the rams with no luck. The kit doesn't seem respond to RGB Fusion 2.0 or any light controlling app.
If you have a clue or have had a similar issues feel free to help because there aren't a lot of information out there about this gadget.

According to youtube. The LEDs are powered by a 3 pin header and can't be controlled by any sort of controller or software because it wasn't designed for that. Youve most likely plugged it into a 4 pin fan header on your motherboard and pwn control is set up for all the other fans which messes with the voltages which leads to the LEDs dimming or flickering.

Go into your bios and set the fan headers the LEDs are plugged into as DC rather than PWM. However, If they are not plugged directly into the motherboard and off a SATA/MOLEX to 3-pin fan adapter then I would say the device is damaged

Huh?
He's talking about Ram LED's, not Fans.
I'd say the Ram isn't getting the Voltage required to run correctly, resetting the Bios to defaults may fix it.

I dont think you really understand how the jonsbo NC-1 RGB Memory Heatsink works. The LEDs on it are powered by a 3 pin fan plug. Having plugged in cathode tubes and led strips into the motherboard fan headers before. I can tell you that having PWM turned on will mess with them.

if you dont plug the heatsink in you wont get any LEDs so I'm trying to ascertain the nature of how he hooked it up. It's not a ram problem it's a problem with an after market heatsink

And that has just further consolidated my dislike of Jonsbo crap.
FFS Ram has it's own RGB built in, there's no need for proprietary crap on top of it.

whats so proprietary about it?

Its an accessory one can use to bling up cheap looking non gamer ram that is powered by a 3-pin fan header. Nothing proprietary about it. proprietary would be if it needed Jonsbo software to configure and can only be hooked up to a plug made by jonsbo that they sell as an adapter for but this isnt the case.
