This is probably in one of the threads I have read (there are a lot of smart, generous, folks here), but I have never over clocked and am cross eyed trying to sort out the basics.

I have a Phenom 9600 BE and 4gig of Crucial Tracer Ballistix DDR2 1066 rated memory. I can't get the BIOS (1.2) to let me get over 800. I have fiddled with a few things but just manage to get it not to boot.

If anyone could give me the few parameter changes needed to get to just get to 1066, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't have any great 'need for speed' other than getting what I paid for.

TIA

Hi

Check for the latest beta bios, they have fixed 1066 setting. Also you can read more information in XtremeSystems forum, AMD section.

Thank you. I don't read German but I will figure it out. I think the BIOS you are talking about is 1.33 (Beta). Think that is safe to use? Kinda scary using a Beta BIOS. Like test a new kind of brakes for your car. :)

Welcome.

That bios, and performance ones, 1.P0F-1.P0H, are OK to flash, just boot form FDD/USB, and use AFUD412 BIOS.NAME no need to extra commands. You have to register to download files.

1.0H works great with my Phenom. And this beta bios are better than official ones.
BTW you board is the Platinum or the CF?

Follow the Tread @XS started by KTE about K9A2 Plat. you will find many user's results about bios versions and configs.

Be well

aGeoM, thank you so much. It worked like a charm. Runs 1066 solid. I didn't have to twiddle anything else. I will start learning more about the "knobs and dials" in the BIOS eventually but right now I need to make friends with Vista (which I am told ain't easy).

Thanks again, clear, to the point help is really good to find. :respect:
