LCD post code "Ad": the Story

After a very succesfull weekend tuning and benching and sunday night late gaming at 4500 Mhz with my i7 6850K... This monday morning I wanted to start working...

Pressed "On" and went to make a coffee.
When I came back, there was an "Ad" code. And a frozen screen.
In the manual "Ad" is "READY TO BOOT EVENT" ...
True: it happens when the full Post process has finished and Windows should launch.

Of course, first thought was: maybe yesterdays overclock was not so good when cold booting... So into the BIOS I went to give it a little more conservative touch...

Well I spend the whole ****ing morning tuning, clening CMOS, without any luck!!!
I decided to test my boot drive in another computer.
There is (apparently, caution) no useful info in the internet about code "Ad" at all !!!! Not in ROG forums either.

Except one guy that says it booted after many minutes. So I tried once more before dismounting parts...

Well, I also unplugged most of the USB cables plugged into the case...

THEN IT BOOTED RIGHT AWAY!!!!!

Conclusion: USB is really really flimsy on X99 or Rampage V (any edition)...

This is so stupid.... :banghead:

I have just ordered a 7 port USB3 PCI-E expansion card... :rockout:

I tend to use pcie USB 3 add-in cards since for me, they tend to operate more reliably than onboard. This is across the board of builds.
